About Us

West Mont is a Montana non-profit charitable organization that has been caring for Montanans since 1973. Over the years, we have grown into a comprehensive organization focused on providing a broad range of services for people with special needs. Our services include housing, respite care, vocational training, employment, medical care and recreational activities.

West Mont has had a big impact on the Helena community both through broadening the understanding about the abilities of individuals with special needs and expanding to meet the continuing needs of the developmentally disabled in the community.

Funded in part by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Developmental Disabilities Division, West Mont employs over 180 people. We operate 11-residential facilities including the Farm in the Dell and Melodee House and 3-vocational centers.  All are located in Helena.

We have maintained our strong commitment to developing and providing service options to enable those with disabilities to reach their maximum potential. West Mont’s newest project, the Caldwell House is our 11th residential facility. It provides healthcare for medically fragile and terminally ill individuals with disabilities. Construction of the Caldwell House was completed in June 2011.
