West Mont is a Helena, Montana 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that has been caring for Montanans since 1973. Over the years, we have grown into a comprehensive organization focused on providing a broad range of services for people with developmental disabilities. Our services include operating 13-residential facilities and 4-vocational centers that provide job training; we also offer respite, nursing care, recreational activities, and employment opportunities.
West Mont has had a big impact on the Helena community both through broadening the understanding about the abilities of people with special needs and expanding services to meet their changing needs in the community. We have maintained our strong commitment to developing and providing service options to enable those with disabilities to reach their maximum potential.
West Mont is funded in part by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Developmental Disabilities Division. With over 180 employees, we are also one of Helena’s larger non-governmental employers.
West Mont is currently raising money for its next project, Ron’s Place. This new 6-bed group home will provide care for people with disabilities who have fluctuating medical needs and require more care than a normal group home can provide. Ron’s Place will be located adjacent to the Caldwell House to provide its residents with easy access to 24-hour nursing care. West Mont hopes to break ground on Ron’s Place sometime during the spring in 2014.
